She played for the International Chopin Society Vienna and gave concerts at numerous festivals, such as the Rodachtal Music Festival, the Musikalischer Sommer in East Frisia, the National Chopin Seminar in Suwalki, the Krumpendorfer Kultursommer and the Fortepiano Festival Vienna.
Together with violinist Anne Harvey-Nagl, concertmaster of the Vienna Volksoper, she recorded her first album for Paladino Music in 2022.
Julia Maria Sliwa began piano lessons with her mother and Teresa Leopold. She studied in Vienna, Katowice and Zurich. She completed her piano concert studies with Robert Marat at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice and then studied postgraduately with Andrzej Jasiński.
The pianist returned to the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna to study chamber music with Teresa Leopold and Stefan Mendl. Since then, Vienna has remained her working and living space.
Here Sliwa received conducting lessons from Claudius Traunfellner and discovered his enthusiasm for the fortepiano after meeting Stefan Gottfried and Jesper Christensen.
Wichtige künstlerische Impulse erhielt die Pianistin regelmäßig von Karl-Heinz Kämmerling, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń, Wojciech Świtała, Boris Berman und Maria Szweiger-Kułakowska.
